Reverse list of items

Sometimes you might have a rather long list of text that is either simply lines, bullets or numbered and you want to reverse the order as in the example below:


1. Computer
2. PC
3. Laptop
4. Mac
5. Windows

-------------------------This becomes

5. Windows
4. Mac
3. Laptop
2. PC
1. Computer


This can be done easily in Microsoft Word:

  • Copy you list of lines
  • Open Notepad and post the data in
  • Copy the list from Notepad and paste it into a Word document
  • Select the data and hit "Insert" then click "Table", select "Convert Text to Table"
  • Leave the default and select "OK"
  • Hit the "Home" tab and click the "sort" button
  • Change the "Sort By" option to "Descending"

  • The data order has now been reversed
