User was reporting that in Microsoft Word 2013 while working with a specific document the program would like up for several seconds constantly. The basic troubleshooting (Close and re-open Word and rebooting the PC) did not seem to help.
Some of the initial troubleshooting was to:
Open Word in Safe Mode
Windows Key + R (opens windows run)
Type in: winword /safe
If it is better you can try to disable any possible word add-ons that may be installed.
Try to disable hardware acceleration:
Open the Word program.
Click on file, Options.
Go to the Advanced tab.
Under the Display section, check the box for 'Disable hardware graphics acceleration'.
Click ok.
If none of that works try repairing Office 2013
Open control panel
Programs and features
Select Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 and then click on "Change"
There should be an option to Repair the installation.
Unfortunately none of the above seemed to fix the issue.
The following did fix the issue:
Find where Word is located on the hard drive in this case it was:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\WINWORD.EXE
Right click and select "Troubleshoot Compatibility"
Select "Try Recommended Settings"
