The following are the steps taken to resolve an issue where the exchange mailbox databases would not mount properly.
Opening up Outlook 2013 on a client computer it showed as disconnected.
Looking at the Exchange Server under "Server Configuration" and then "Mailbox"
The Public Folder, Storage01, Storage02, Storage03 and Storage04 all showed as not mounted.
If you tried to mount any of the above it produced an error and would not mount.
Solution was to move the log files as I believe the fact the databases were in a dirty shutdown state was the issue.
Go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Mailbox
Then cut the logs from the following folders:
Public Folder, Storage01, Storage02, Storage03 and Storage04
Create matching folders in C:\Tmp
Dump the logs into the corresponding folders
**Now try to mount all the databases, it should now be succesful.**
