As we all know Graphics card drivers can be a bit finicky and troublesome. I have ran into an issue when trying to update the graphics driver and it failing. Even after uninstalling the old driver the new one would just not install. This is caused by remanents of the old driver kicking around.
One could try to go through the registry but there is an easyer way. Display Driver Uninstaller is a free program that will fully and properly remove the old driver. I have tested it out and After using it was able to install the new driver on the problem computer. You can download by clicking on the image below:
